In a city filled with coffee shops, few have managed to build the kind of loyal following that Chaumont Bakery has earned over the last decade. Now, the French-inspired bakery and café has raised the bar again with the opening of its fifth and largest Los Angeles location at 2121 Avenue of the Stars in Century City, bringing its signature pastries, specialty coffee program, and an expanded all-day menu to one of the city’s busiest business and lifestyle districts.
For co-founder Frederic Laski, the move to Century City was a natural next step in Chaumont’s evolution. The brand’s growth has remained firmly rooted on Los Angeles’ Westside, beginning in Beverly Hills before expanding to Santa Monica and Westwood. Century City sits at the center of that footprint, creating an ideal hub for both longtime customers and newcomers discovering the bakery for the first time.Â
“Century City is great because it’s a really big hub for the office crowd,” Laski said. “We have a lot of retail around us, and our goal is really to transform this place into a destination.”Â

At nearly 5,000 square feet, the new café is more than just another location. It is Chaumont’s largest dining space to date and the first designed around a full-service kitchen, allowing the team to expand beyond pastries into made-to-order breakfast and lunch offerings. Guests can now pair their morning espresso and croissant with smash burgers, burritos, seasonal soups, grain bowls, and rotating daily specials created specifically for the Century City audience.Â
What continues to set Chaumont apart, however, is its commitment to French baking traditions. While many bakeries chase trends, Laski credits the bakery’s success to mastering the fundamentals. “There is no real secret about it,” he said. “That’s the traditional French recipe that we apply with the right ingredients.”Â
Those ingredients include premium French butter sourced from Brittany, high-quality European chocolate, and carefully selected ingredients from California producers. The result is a lineup of croissants and pastries that consistently ranks among the most talked-about in Los Angeles.Â
Yet authenticity is only half the story. Living and baking in Los Angeles has pushed Chaumont to evolve. Over the years, customer requests have inspired creations that blend French technique with Southern California flavors. A guava and cream cheese croissant, for example, became such a favorite that it earned a permanent place on the menu after customers refused to let it disappear. The bakery has also experimented with savory croissants, seasonal specialties, and limited-run creations that reflect the diversity of Los Angeles’ food culture.Â
That balance between tradition and innovation is one reason Chaumont continues to stand out in a crowded café scene.

“We have a mix of authenticity and innovation in order to cater to the West Coast market,” Laski explained. “People here are really open-minded. They’re willing to give something a chance.”Â
The Century City location also offers something increasingly rare in Los Angeles: convenience. Nestled inside 2121 Avenue of the Stars, the café features ample parking, spacious seating, and a garden-like atmosphere that feels removed from the city’s pace. While it serves office professionals throughout the day, Laski envisions it becoming a destination for residents and visitors alike.
“It would be a shame not to let people from outside the office towers enjoy this place,” he said. “It’s a great location.”Â

As Century City continues to evolve into one of Los Angeles’ premier dining and lifestyle destinations, Chaumont has positioned itself as more than a neighborhood bakery. It is a place where Parisian craftsmanship meets California creativity, where a classic pain au chocolat shares menu space with innovative seasonal offerings, and where a quick coffee stop can easily turn into a lingering lunch.
For anyone searching for one of the best coffee shops in Century City—or simply one of the best croissants in Los Angeles—Chaumont’s newest location makes a compelling case for both.
