Funk Yeah Launch at Haven

June 11. Kick-start your weekend with new brews from small-batch beer producer Beachwood Blendery (from the same minds behind the award-winning Beachwood Brewing) at Haven Craft Kitchen + Bar in Old Towne Orange. The three new beers—Funk Yeah 2020, Funk Yeah Boysenberry and Funk Yeah Nectarine—are inspired by the Belgian Gueuze tradition blend of one-, two- and three-year barrels. Each with its own unique flavors, chef Brady created an oyster tasting menu that pairs perfectly with each. Heritage Barbecue and Friends Pop-Up Collab

June 13. SoCal’s hottest barbecue destination is turning up the heat with a not-to-be missed pop-up collab with Texas special guests Khói Barbecue from Houston and Convenience West from Marfa. On the menu, Khói is offering its signature brisket phở, bánh xèo (savory Vietnamese crepes, pictured) and bò lá lốt links; while Convenience West is serving up Sriracha-molasses-glazed St. Louis-cut spare ribs and Tex-Mex brisket boudin. New Summer Dishes at Hendrix

Now Available. Delight in new seasonal dishes showcasing summer’s most vibrant ingredients at Hendrix Restaurant & Bar. Executive chef Rainer Schwarz adds new pastas as well as ocean-to-table dishes to the starters, salads and entrees on the menu. Soft-Shell Crab Season at Water Grill

Now Available. First-of-season wild soft-shell crabs from Maryland’s famed Chesapeake Bay have arrived at Water Grill in Costa Mesa, where the coveted ingredient will be offered through September. To kick off the season, the venue presents a pair of the blue crabs atop a watermelon-cucumber salad with a brown-butter soy-ginger sauce; the soft-shell crab roll (pictured)—with mango, pickled jalapeño, snow pea shoots, eel sauce and cilantro oil—is as gorgeous as it is tasty. Hearts Like Planets

June 10, 13. Tune in to the newest livestream reading from Chance Theater’s On The Radar (OTR) New Works Program that aims to support the creation of diverse new stories by emerging U.S. playwrights. The story is about a very bright, very fast object careening towards the Earth and in this moment of imminent death, the heroes and villains make big life and love choices. Pops Fridays: A Virtual Night at the Movies Part 1

Begins June 11. Mark your calendar for a fun virtual evening with Pacific Symphony Pops. Led by Richard Kaufman (pictured) in his 30th anniversary season as principal pops conductor, the program includes themes from popular film music, such as John Barry’s Flying Theme from Out of Africa and John Williams’ March of the Resistance from Star Wars – The Force Awakens. This performance will be available for free streaming on YouTube and Facebook channels starting at 7 p.m. on June 11 through July 10.

Concert with Augustin Hadelich and Orion Weiss

Upcoming | June 14. Irvine Barclay Theater welcomes classical music fans to enjoy a concert featuring violinist Augustin Hadelich (pictured) and pianist Orion Weiss. This concert will be available to watch in-person at Irvine Barclay, or to watch from home via livestream with one week of on-demand viewing.
