Los Angeles Design Weekend

June 21-23. Explore gallery shows, open studios, parties and pop-up shops during the inaugural L.A. Design Weekend, a multi-neighborhood design series. Events will be held in different areas each day: Friday features group shows in DTLA and the Arts District; Saturday includes open studios in Northeast L.A. and a party in Frogtown; Sunday offers installations and workshops in Echo Park, Silver Lake, Los Feliz and Atwater Village. Hollywood Under the Stars

June 22. Prepare for a star-filled evening at the third annual “Hollywood Under the Stars” gala fundraiser, hosted by St. Vincent Meals on Wheels at Paramount Studios. Honoring Ian McShane and Gwen Humble McShane for their long-time support, the event will feature culinary delights from nearly a dozen renowned chefs and pâtissiers. The Bungalow Long Beach Kicks off Summer All-New Sunset Sips

Now Open. The hotspot with panoramic marina views introduces new summer offerings, Sunset Sips, DJ sets and extended hours. The Bungalow’s updated menu features $7 beers, cocktails priced between $10-$12 and shareable bar bites like sliders, pigs in a blanket, pretzel bites and margherita pizzas ranging from $8-$14. Also, enjoy new weekly music programming, including “Get the Party Started” on Thursdays, a throwback to Y2K with DJ Annalyze playing pop hits from the late 90s to early 2000s. Marelle Santa Monica

Now Open. Culinary Director Raphael Lunetta has launched Marelle on Ocean Avenue, drawing inspirations from Coastal California cuisine and global travels. The menu highlights farm-fresh ingredients and includes dishes like hamachi crudo with jalapeño kefir lime ponzu, duck confit with cherries and almonds and Jidori chicken with stone-ground polenta. Beverage Director Amanda Fewster’s bar program features creative cocktails like “La Vie En Rose,” a unique twist on the classic paloma, served in a bespoke clay cup. Now Open. This Parisian themed restaurant in West Hollywood offers martinis, freshly shucked oysters at a marble-topped bar and wood-fired French dishes on a jasmine-lined patio. Chef Jacob Wetherington expands the dinner menu and introduces a weekend brunch, featuring dishes like classic tarte flambé, Dungeness crab rigatoni and a permanent Straus Organic Creamery soft serve sundae. Bar manager Isabel Hales crafts a classic-leaning cocktail menu with a SoCal twist, including Hippies in Paris and French 76, paired by a curated wine list from California and France. Henry Mancini 100th Celebration

June 23. The Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, along with special guests, will open the Bowl’s 2024 season with a celebration of Henry Mancini’s 100th birthday. The 20-time Grammy-winning composer, known for iconic pieces like “Moon River” and the score for “The Pink Panther,” frequently graced the Bowl’s stage, conducting 29 times. Lawyers play Broadway at Disney Hall

June 22. The LA Lawyers Philharmonic and its chorus, Legal Voices, will mark their 15th Anniversary Concert Extraordinaire with pieces like South Pacific, Mary Poppins, Beethoven’s Emperor Concerto, and The Planets. Conducted by founder Gary S. Greene, Esq., the concert honors Richard M. Sherman with a Mary Poppins medley. Tony Award winner Michael Maguire, Esq., will perform songs from The Music Man and Les Misérables. American Contemporary Ballet presents Sapphires

Until June 29. George Balanchine envisioned a fourth act for his renowned ballet Jewels, titled Sapphires, though it was never brought to the stage. ACB pays homage to this lost masterpiece, celebrating classical beauty and glamour with 17 dancers, 16 musicians, and thousands of carats. Pasadena Chalk Festival

June 22-23. Let your creativity run wild as the Pasadena Chalk Festival returns to the Plaza at the Pasadena Convention Center.
