Hollywood has no shortage of fitness classes, wellness activations, or rooftop workouts. What separates W Legends is the reason people keep coming back. Founded by celebrity trainers Christian Castano and Matt Tralli, the Los Angeles-based wellness collective has transformed fitness into something increasingly rare in a city built around screens and schedules: genuine human connection.
Perched atop the 12th-floor rooftop of the W Hollywood, W Legends recently hosted its signature “Level Up” experience, a full-day wellness event that blended training, recovery, mindfulness, and community into one immersive gathering. Participants moved through “The Sweat,” a 60-minute workout divided into four training blocks, before transitioning into “The Reset,” featuring yoga, breathwork, and a restorative sound bath. Around them, a wellness village offered cold plunges, chiropractic care, physical therapy, Reiki healing, recovery treatments, and wellness-focused brand activations.
For Castano, the workout is only part of the equation. “We want to give back to our community,” he said. “It’s not about anything else. It’s about everyone that comes and supports us, and we just want like-minded individuals in a space together.”

That philosophy has become the foundation of W Legends. While many fitness events focus on performance metrics, personal records, or aesthetics, Castano and Tralli have built their platform around accessibility and belonging. Every workout remains bodyweight-focused, allowing newcomers and experienced athletes to train side by side.
“Anyone can do it,” Castano explained. “We’ve had opportunities to do it with equipment, but keeping it bodyweight means anyone at any level can participate.”
The approach reflects the founders’ combined three decades of experience in the fitness industry. Having trained celebrities, professional athletes, and everyday clients alike, Castano and Tralli recognized that many people weren’t struggling because they lacked workout programs. They were struggling because they lacked community, consistency, and support.
That message resonated throughout the event. Attendees weren’t focused on capturing content for social media. They were talking, training, encouraging one another, and meeting new people.
“I see similar faces every time,” Castano said. “Everyone’s meeting people. It’s really cool. In this world today, everyone has followers, but coming together and meeting people is really special.”
Why W Legends Is About More Than Fitness

The emphasis on holistic wellness extends beyond physical fitness. During the event, wellness coach and trainer Lany Herman encouraged participants to look beyond exercise and evaluate the full picture of health.
“The foundation is finding your wellness—what makes you the best version of yourself,” Herman said. “Sleep, recovery, the content you consume, the people you spend time with—health and wellness is a lifestyle. It’s not just training.”
That mindset has fueled the growth of W Legends beyond workouts alone. Earlier this year, the organization partnered with Keep Winning Run Club for a Mental Health Awareness Month community run focused on connection, support, and positivity. The event brought together runners of all experience levels while highlighting the role movement can play in improving mental well-being.
The Future of Fitness Is Human Connection

Looking ahead, W Legends is preparing for its anniversary collaboration with HYROX, one of the world’s fastest-growing fitness racing formats. The upcoming event will feature a HYROX-inspired endurance workout, recovery experiences, energy healing sessions, wellness activations, product giveaways, and a poolside celebration at the W Hollywood Wet Deck. Participants can also experience cold plunges, EMS demonstrations, matcha tastings, live DJs, and community challenges throughout the day.
More importantly, the event will support a larger purpose. A portion of proceeds will benefit AIM Youth Mental Health, helping fund critical research and clinical programs focused on youth mental health initiatives.
For Castano and Tralli, that mission reflects what W Legends has always been about. Fitness may bring people through the door, but community is what keeps them coming back.
As Los Angeles continues searching for ways to foster connection in an increasingly digital world, W Legends is proving that sometimes the most powerful wellness tool isn’t found in a gym, a supplement, or a recovery device. It’s found in a room full of people moving together toward something bigger than themselves.
