The Maybourne Beverly Hills x goop Announce Exclusive Claridge’s Afternoon Tea

The Maybourne Brings a Special Surprise Guest

This April, The Maybourne Beverly Hills will welcome its sister hotel, Claridge’s, for an exclusive afternoon tea residency in partnership with goop. Heralding the start of spring with a festive English Garden in the heart of Beverly Hills and nodding to goop’s limited-edition clothing collection with British designer Emilia Wickstead, which launches at the end of March. Claridge’s Afternoon Tea at The Maybourne Beverly Hills illustrates a playful fusion of traditional English culture with the vibrancy of California. The tea service will take place on April 1st and 2nd at 2:00 PM and is bookable to the public through OpenTable. Guests will enjoy the traditional teatime ritual with California-inspired treats and a distinctive goop twist.

Presented at the hotel’s enchanting white parasol dotted restaurant, The Terrace, overlooking the Beverly Cañon Gardens, guests will enjoy tea service in a lush garden setting, surrounded by a white jacketed team and the sounds of a grand piano. The elegant tea will be served on peach and white striped bone China by French porcelain purveyor Bernardaud, accompanied by a menu featuring a selection of traditional favorites with Californian updates.

“We are delighted to bring the magic of Claridge’s afternoon tea to the West Coast in partnership with our friends at goop,” stated Eugene Leonard, General Manager of The Maybourne Beverly Hills. “Gwyneth Paltrow and the goop team have been longstanding friends of Maybourne Hotel Group and we look forward to raising our teacups together in celebration.”

Highlights from the menu include smoked salmon and cucumber sandwiches, pastries created by Claridge’s Executive Pastry Chef Thibault Hauchard from scones with whipped ricotta to a strawberry eton mess, and a goop-inspired amuse bouche from Gwyneth Paltrow’s personal recipe collection, and more, alongside a variety of perfectly poured loose-leaf tea. Guests will also have the chance to experience a variety of best-sellers from goop’s award-winning beauty collection and shop a curated goop assortment onsite.

“At our core, goop is about discovering the best: a memorable experience in a new city (or even your hometown), a beautifully made dress that sparks joy, a clean, efficacious skincare product that gives you a little extra glow. The Claridge’s and goop afternoon tea is a perfect example of that essence come to life,” said Noora Raj Brown, EVP of Brand at goop. “goop was founded at Gwyneth Paltrow’s kitchen table in London 15 years ago, and bringing Claridge’s, one of our favorite places across the pond, to Los Angeles for a weekend that also celebrates our Emilia Wickstead x goop collection is a true full circle moment for us.”

The spring debut of the Emilia Wickstead x goop collection launches on March 26 exclusively on goop.com and emiliawickstead.com. The collection is an elevated, playful take on the English garden party, drawing inspiration from Cecil Beaton’s photographs of flowers taken at his Wiltshire country home, Reddish House. Elements of the collection will be on display during the afternoon tea residency at The Maybourne Beverly Hills the following weekend.
