WORLD-MUSIC QUARTET DakhaBrakha brings its “ethno-chaos” to the Wallis on Dec. 6 and dance troupe BodyTraffic presents four works at the venue Dec. 11-13.
Kyiv-based DakhaBrakha merges ancient Ukrainian traditions and folk instruments with Indian, African and Middle Eastern influences for a sound that’s deeply rooted, satisfyingly sensuous and smirkingly adventurous.

BodyTraffic offers Flyland by David Middendorp, a duet blending animation, projection and choreography. Cayetano Soto’s Schachmatt (Checkmate!) turns a giant chessboard into a theatrical playground Juel D. Lane’s Incense Burning on a Saturday Morning: The Maestro salutes L.A. painter Ernie Barnes with accompanying projections. Jordyn Santiago’s Coalescence is an hommage to femininity, queerness and community.
