Dissonant, Resonant, Dialogical: Made in L.A. 2025 Showcases Emerging Artists at the Hammer Museum

Featured in Performances Magazine

HAMMER MUSEUM’s biennial Made in L.A. has become one of the most influential exhibitions of contemporary art in the United States. The seventh edition, on display through Mar. 1, highlights works by artists working throughout greater Los Angeles with an emphasis on emerging and under-recognized artists.

Organizers Essence Harden and Paulina Pobocha selected 28 participants working in disciplines including film, painting, theater, choreography, photography, sculpture, mixed-media installation, sound, and video.

A companion piece—a towering 25-foot inflatable sculpture that was produced in partnership with the Art Production Fund—occupies the museum’s outdoor sculpture pedestal at Wilshire Boulevard and Glendon Avenue.
