Oct. 3-6. Drive on over to the Anaheim Convention Center to see 600+ vehicles on display. The iconic event unveils 2020 production-models—you can test drive more than 100 of them—plus an array of concept, custom and exotic cars. Oct. 4. Get in the holiday spirit early! Get a jump on home decorations with a visit to the Christmas boutique at Roger’s Gardens, themed this year as an enchanted forest. Oct. 4-6. All eyes look to the sky as planes and jets perform spectacular stunts over the Pacific Ocean in the only beachfront airshow on the West Coast. Flying begins at noon each day with many of the aerobatic maneuvers happening over Huntington City Beach. Noon-4 p.m. See website for ticket prices. Oct. 4-Nov. 2. Gather a group of friends for Sinister Pointe’s new Halloween event. Take part in a scavenger hunt at Westminster Mall; find 13 artifacts in order to make it out alive. Oct. 5. Receive exclusive discounts at more than 45 stores; the Outlets at San Clemente donates $25 for every ticket purchased to any of 47 local nonprofit organizations the shopper chooses. Oct. 6. The Los Angeles/Orange County chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier presents the documentary film A Fine Line…A Woman’s Place is in the Kitchen screening at Hotel Irvine’s plush theater. The fundraiser starts with a reception featuring cheese, charcuterie and wine, champagne or water, followed by the 80-minute film. All proceeds benefit the Phyllis Ann Marshall Culinary Scholarship fund to assist young culinarians. Pre-reception 2 p.m., screening 3 p.m. $65 entry, $5 self-parking with validation.

Now Available. The new contemporary French restaurant now offers lunch daily: a more casual à la carte menu or three-course prix fixe meal ($32) consisting of chef’s selection of seasonal soup or salad starter, an entrée, and a dessert created by French pastry chef Germain Biotteau. Now Available. Portola Coffee Roasters’ new Theorem menu offers a cross-sensory craft-coffee experience, available through November 29, that allows guests to “taste” colors as well as see them. As with all Theorem menus, it features barista-driven coffee creations featuring sustainable and seasonal ingredients, complex textures and global flavors. Drinks include Red (flat brown), Purple (iced latte), Gold (gaspar), Pink (cold brew) and Green (matcha). See website for locations and hours.

Oct. 3. Savor an evening at Las Brisas as chef Michael Gaines collaborates with Daou Vineyards on a six-course dinner with wine pairings. The evening begins with a reception in the newly redesigned bar and lounge, where guests can enjoy heirloom tomato and stone-fruit gazpacho paired with Sauvignon Blanc 2018. The dinner in the main dining room includes salmon crudo with Chardonnay 2018, roasted chicken breast with Pinot Noir 2018 and chipotle-agave-glazed pork belly with Bodyguard by Daou 2017.
