July 4-27. For the first-time ever, CGV Cinemas Buena Park will be holding a family-friendly beer pong challenge, giving movie-goers another way to enjoy their time at the theater this month. Soda or water will be used in lieu of beer for families partaking in the challenge. The game rules will be 100% up to the customers, and all participants will be entered into a raffle for free movie tickets. See website for full list of rules. Starts July 6. Movies under the stars return to Fashion Island with Friday Night Flix throughout the month of July. Kicking the series off is Jaws, followed by A League of Their Own (July 13), Dirty Dancing (July 20) and Pretty in Pink (July 27). Featured films include Back to the Future (July 9), The Princess Bride (July 16), Moonrise Kingdom (July 23), The Mask of Zorro (July 30) and Star Trek (Aug. 6). July 7-Sept. 1. Arguably one of the most unique productions in the entire world, you will be amazed by 90 minutes of tableaux vivants (“living pictures”). In the incredibly faithful re-creations of classical and contemporary works of art, real people pose to look exactly like their counterparts in the original pieces. This summer’s production is themed Under the Sun where a live narrator guides you through the story of each living picture accompanied by a full orchestra.
