SteelCraft Garden Grove’s Summer Culture Series

July 24. Mark your calendar for the outdoor urban food hall’s Summer Culture Series, an all-new series of events celebrating SoCal’s rich diversity. The first of three events will take place this Saturday and focus on the AAPI community. Expect live music, speakers, and cultural performances while enjoying chef-led demos, food, and shopping from various local AAPI makers’ pop-ups. Additional events in the series will take place on August 21 (celebrating Latinx culture) and September 18 (celebrating Black culture). The Gift of Los Angeles: Memories in Watercolor by Gayle Garner Roski 

Opens July 24. Bowers Museum presents an exhibition by Los Angeles-based artist, traveler and storyteller Gayle Garner Roski (pictured) through November 14. Featuring more than 100 of her watercolor works on display, this celebration of life was a labor of love for the artist, who completed the project while battling the rare neurodegenerative disease amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)—also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease—and unfortunately passed away in October of 2020.
