It’s All About the Masa

Sept. 10. Masienda hosts MASAFEST, a West L.A.block party in celebration of all things masa. The outdoor food fair features some of LA’s best restaurants including Taco Mara, Ditroit, Quarantine Pizza, Los Dorados & Poncho’s Tlayudas. Tiki-Themed Cinema Party

Sept. 10. The Highland Park Independent Film Festival’s tiki-themed event will announce the line-up for their October film festival. Now Open. Named after Grecian monasteries, Meteora is a new botanical themed restaurant with bird’s nest decor. The immersive menu presents grilled leaf and stonefruit dishes that feature peaches gently warmed over fire, beef ribs smoked overnight with pine resin, and mushrooms cooked over smokeless coal, imparting a smoky flavor. Encanto Restaurant & Bar Grand Opening

Sept. 8. In the works for over four years, Encanto Restaurant & Bar opens its doors in Los Feliz. This sleek, sultry restaurant with Cal-Mex-inspired flavors and agave spirit cocktails showcases dishes like roasted tomatillo salsa with guacamole, gordo frijoles with burnt black garlic purée, and churro bites made with fried ricotta dough.
