Josh Johnson Special Taping

United Way of Greater Los Angeles’ Centennial Festival

May 14. Swimsuits for All Pop-Up

May 12-15. To celebrate the start of swim season, swimwear brand Swimsuits For All will be a doing a pop-up at Third Street Promenade. Sports Illustrated model Camille Kostek will be there for a meet and greet to launch her new collection. All Fit experts offer personalized fitting sessions with a complimentary glass of champagne. Poolside Residency “Nouvelles Saveurs”

Now Open. Beverly Wilshire, A Four Seasons Hotel collaborates with Chef T. Nicolas to bring a poolside pop-up “Nouvelles Saveurs.”  The new seasonally-influenced five course menu is designed for summer-tinged dining. Entrees include grilled loup de mer with dungeness crab or wagyu shank with baby artichoke. For dessert, strawberry pistachio mille-feuille with Harry’s berries strawberries and rose syrup. Mastro’s Ocean Club Opening in DTLA

May 13. Highly acclaimed Mastro’s Ocean Club restaurant opens the doors to it’s new DTLA location. The menu features items such as a raw bar, a two-foot-tall seafood tower and creative sushi selections developed by famed sushi chef Angel Carbajal of Cabo San Lucas’ Niksan. A Forest for the Trees

Opens May 13. Showcased at Ace Mission Studios downtown, A Forest for the Trees is a new limited-time immersive exhibition about our relationship with the natural world. Go on an hour-long journey through a surreal forest of magic, music, and wonder—with animatronic performing trees, illusions of fire and interactive sound sculptures tucked within a 28,000-square-foot space. LA Phil presents Revueltas and Petrushka

May 12-13. L.A Philharmonic’s conductor Gustavo Dudamel leads two dramatic performances. First will be Silvestre Revueltas’ film score that features a wild, extended section of percussion instruments symbolizing Mayan rituals. Second is Igor Stravinsky’s colorful score, Petrushka, a ballet based on a tale of a magician and his three puppets.
