Jan. 19. Get Fit With Minnie Mouse
Jan. 19. Female-founded athleisurewear brand Terez and leading cold-pressed-juice brand Pressed Juicery will host a Minnie Mouse-inspired fitness event open to the public at Westfield Century City, in celebration of the launch of their Minnie-inspired collections (and Minnie’s 90th anniversary). Women’s March Los Angeles
Jan. 19. Don’t call it a protest, organizers say. Rather, it’s billed as a “pro peace, pro inclusivity event focused on marginalized voices and the power of voting.” Thousands of women (and men) are expected to participate on Saturday morning, starting with a program in Pershing Square, followed by a march to L.A. Asian American Expo
Jan. 19-20. Slack Key Festival
Jan. 20. The Southern California Slack Key Festival takes fans on a Hawaiian musical journey that showcases Grammy Award-winning slack-key guitarists, the best hula dancers in the world, special guest performers and a free-to-the-public Island Marketplace. 2 p.m. $20-$55. Martin Luther King Jr. Day
Jan. 21. The California African American Museum celebrates Martin Luther King Jr. Day with art, culture and community. Fellow Dinner and Cocktails
Now Available. After opening for lunch last June, Fellow in Westwood Village has expanded to full service with a dinner and cocktail program. Monty’s Good Burger
Now Available. Since opening last summer, the Koreatown vegan burger joint has regularly seen long wait times (up to two hours on weekends) just to get in the door. Now it’s one of the first SoCal restaurants to debut the new and improved Impossible 2.0 burger, so expect the lines to grow. The new burger is soy-based and gluten-free versus the now-discontinued wheat-based original—and impossible to distinguish from a traditional beef patty. It’s worth waiting for. Simonette
Now Open. Located in the lobby and leafy courtyard of the brand new Palihotel Culver City, Simonette is a French-inspired all-day bar and cafe serving breakfast, lunch and dinner during the week, plus weekend brunch and a special late-night bar menu. High Tide Grand Opening
Jan. 18. High Tide makes its debut in a former industrial space between Little Tokyo and the Arts District. The bar promises a selection of local craft beer and a rosé-focused wine list, supplemented by frozen cocktails and coffee, tea and kombucha on tap. For bites, a seafood-centered tapas menu is available. Also on-site: glassblowing, live music and a curated gallery space. Hello Kitty Cafe Truck
Jan. 19. The popular all-pink cafe on wheels will be parked at Del Amo Fashion Center all day, in the courtyard by the AMC Theatres. Hello Kitty fans can look forward to exclusive new goodies and limited-edition collectibles including a giant Hello Kitty cookie and new petit fours box set. The Stanley Clarke Band

The Black Cat
Jan. 19-20. Long Beach Opera presents the U.S. premiere of The Black Cat in collaboration with the Musica Angelica Baroque Orchestra.
