Tom Bergin’s Public House
March 17-18. If there were one place to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Los Angeles, it would be at Tom Bergin’s Public House. The party starts at 6 a.m. with Irish breakfast and Irish coffee at the horseshoe bar. Festivities really get rolling at 11 a.m., when the party moves out into the parking lot and offers two bars, beer pong, a Fernet ice luge, giveaways and more until 2 a.m. You may even see Mayor Eric Garcetti stop by to bar-tend for a bit. Casey’s St. Patrick’s Day Street Festival
March 17. This annual all-day street festival enlivens downtown Los Angeles with Irish food, drink specials (green beer, anyone?) and sets by a live DJ. Flogging Molly
March 17. The Irish-American seven-piece Celtic punk band from Los Angeles headlines the Forum with Mighty Mighty Bosstones and Mariachi El Bronx. The St. Patrick’s Day show starts at 3 p.m. with Guinness, green beer and Irish-inspired cocktails at the Tullamore Dew Whiskey Bar. The chef-driven Kosher Jewish sandwich shop from chef Eric Greenspan and Midcourse Hospitality Group serves Greenspan’s modern approaches to Jewish food. The cornerstone of the menu is its sandwiches like the Bubbe (Grandmother) with brisket, arugula, crispy chicken skin gribnis, beet horseradish and crispy onions; and the Zayde (Grandfather) with grilled salami, housemade pickles, caramelized onions and deli mustard. South Pasadena’s most exciting new restaurant has quietly been amassing loyal fans with its eclectic menu of seasonal dishes and creative cocktails. Highlights include their Deviled Avocado with Peruvian ceviche and plantain chips; veal bone marrow with salsa verde and a sous vide egg; mushroom pappardelle with locally foraged mushrooms and their B.Y.O.B, where you can build the burger of your dreams.
