Ours Is a City of Writers
Feb. 5-March 26. The new exhibition at the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery pays homage to the vibrant intersection between writing and the contemporary art world. Invited writers have selected artists to collaborate with and vice-versa. Each collaboration has led to a new piece of writing, artwork, performance, lecture, or program, exhibited in the gallery and staged as live events. Catalina Kitchen
The oceanfront Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes debuts their newly remodeled restaurant, Catalina Kitchen. The dining destination—one of eight on the resort—received a complete overhaul on its interior and exteriors and food and beverage offerings. Chef de cuisine David Tarrin takes a rustic approach to his menu, which boasts everything from seafood and charcuterie to steaks and pasta. Highlights include a short rib Benedict for breakfast; followed by lunch and dinner dishes like pork belly and fig flat bread; and handmade pappardelle with lobster broth, clams, mussels, shrimp, spicy pork sausage and chanterelle mushrooms. Catalina Kitchen also offers a seafood buffet on Fridays, which in addition to hot and chilled seafood dishes, offers handmade sushi rolls and seafood pastas.
