Summer Nights in the Garden
June 29. In Exposition Park, The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County presents Summer Nights in the Garden, complete with botanical tours, garden-experts meetings, performances and live music. “The Muppets Movie”
June 29. Calling all lovers and dreamers. The Skirball Cultural Center presents an outdoor screening of kid classic The Muppets Movie as a tie-in with the museum’s current Jim Henson exhibition. Street Food Cinema
June 30. Feed your need for speed (and yummy eats) as Street Food Cinema makes its way to Culver City’s Veterans Memorial Park. Top Gun takes flight on the outdoor big screen preceded by 1980s band Past Action Heroes. Eat|See|Hear: “Lady Bird”
June 30. Not to be outdone in the burgeoning summer outdoor movie screening scene, Eat|See|Hear presents the award-winning dark comedy Lady Bird along with a concert by singer/songwriter Isla June and delicious eats available from several food trucks (Farmers Belly, Green Truck, Made in Brooklyn Pizza and more). Storytelling for Families
July 1. In conjunction with Grand Performances’ First Peoples, New Voices series, MC RedCloud, Jessa Calderon and Tokala Black Elk will draw upon Indigenous wisdom and traditions to share rhymes, animal tales and origin stories. Last Call: Candytopia
Through July 4. It’s almost a wrap for Candytopia. The pop-up interactive exhibition of all things sweet from TLC’s “Candy Queen” Jackie Sorkin ends its L.A. run at the Santa Monica Place mall soon. June 29. Attracting crowds for years now, Barnsdall Art Park’s annual Friday Night Wine Tastings series is back for its 10th year.
