Weekend Concerts at The Rady Shell

Chula Vista Lemon Festival

Aug. 15. When life hands you lemons, make a festival out of them! The Downtown Chula Vista Association hosts the 29th annual Lemon Festival in the city once considered the “Lemon Capitol of the World.” Visit fun booths by local businesses—offering lemon-themed treats, beverages and specials; plus family-friendly activities, two stages of live music, libations, photo ops, arts and crafts vendors, a lemon pie eating contest, and the “Best Dressed of the Lemon Fest” contest. 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Free entry. San Diego Made Summer Market

Aug. 15-16. Head to Liberty Station’s Ingram Plaza for this two-day alfresco festival celebrating San Diego’s small businesses and creative community. The family-friendly fun includes a curated market showcasing more than 120 local vendors, selling one-of-a-kind artwork, home wares, jewelry, crafts, pantry items and much more; plus live music, food, drinks and photo ops. “Summer Spectacular” at SeaWorld

Through Sept. 7. SeaWorld San Diego’s family-friendly summertime experience aims to make your visit particularly magical. The park comes alive with special shows, live concerts, dancing under the stars and more. Entertainment this year includes the all-new “Ocean of Dreams” drone show; a concert series spotlighting R&B and hip-hop artists and hits from the ‘90s and early 2000s; and stunt shows. Wine Tasting Soiree at the Bay

Aug. 15. Wine tasting while enjoying dreamy water views makes for a perfect San Diego Saturday. The Mission Bay Beach Club hosts a fun wine-tasting experience along the waterfront on its bayside patio. Now Open. The Guild Hotel welcomes Zuma, a chic indoor/outdoor restaurant serving modern Japanese cuisine and cocktails. With locations around the world and the U.S. (Miami, NYC, Vegas), this new Zuma outpost marks the luxury restaurant brand’s first California location. A Japanese garden-style walkway leads you through a teak tunnel, which opens to an expansive dining patio and indoor seating beyond. Broadway San Diego: Hell’s Kitchen

Aug. 11-16. The smash ‘90s-inspired musical Hell’s Kitchen, presented by Broadway San Diego, stops at the Civic Theatre as part of its North American Tour—with music and lyrics by 16-time Grammy Award winner Alicia Keys. It centers on Ali, a rebellious young woman with an overprotective mother—who is introduced to the piano by a neighbor. (Pictured: Maya Drake as Ali.) Cygnet Theatre: Arcadia

Through Aug. 16. English playwright Tom Stoppard’s “witty, dazzling drama,” Arcadia, plays at Cygnet Theatre through Sunday. Travel back and forth from 1809 to present time at a country estate, where modern researchers—a young prodigy and her tutor—investigate a mysterious, historical scandal about a visiting Lord Byron. Characters from both centuries share the same room and objects, revealing how history intertwines with the present. Sean Murray directs. New Village Arts: We Will Rock You

Through Sept. 20. New Village Arts brings us the musical We Will Rock You. (Opening Night is Aug. 15.) Rediscover the magic of legendary rock group Queen (original members are pictured) via this electric production, in which a group of “young revolutionaries embark on a quest to rediscover the lost art of rock ‘n’ roll.” The show features 20-plus Queen hits, including “We Are the Champions,” “Bohemian Rhapsody” and, of course, the musical’s namesake.
