Malibu has its own way of doing summer: ocean air, guitars in the afternoon, cocktails by sunset and a crowd that knows the day is better when it stretches into night. On Sunday, Aug. 9, 2026, Sunday Sessions returns with a beachside music and lifestyle takeover across The Surfrider Malibu, Malibu Pier and Aviator Nation Dreamland. Presented by The Surfrider Malibu, a Casetta Hotel, in partnership with Aviator Nation Dreamland and Malibu Pier, the day-to-night event brings together live music, vinyl sets, food, drinks and laid-back coastal energy in one of Southern California’s most recognizable settings.
General admission is free and open to all ages, with access to the Malibu Pier Stage, Dreamland Stage and Dreamland Patio. Guests can expect live performances overlooking the Pacific, indoor sets at Aviator Nation Dreamland and vinyl DJs spinning throughout the day on the patio.
For the 21+ crowd, VIP passes unlock a more tucked-away Malibu experience. VIP guests receive access to The Surfrider Roof Deck, where acoustic performances, food, cocktails and sweeping coastline views set the tone from late morning into evening. VIP access also includes the Lola Blankets Lounge on Malibu Pier, a backstage-inspired setup with side-stage views, oceanfront seating, a private bar and private restroom.
The July edition featured performances by Zoe Smith, Ellie Blackburn, Rachell Rivas, Taylor John Williams and Saige Davis, with the August artist lineup set to be announced the week before the event.
Hotel guests staying at The Surfrider will automatically receive access to ticketed VIP experiences. Travelers looking to turn the event into a full Malibu weekend can use booking code SSS26 for a special room rate, while friends of The Surfrider and Casetta may receive 10% off their stay and two complimentary VIP tickets, subject to availability.
The event runs throughout the day, with The Surfrider Roof Deck open approximately 11 a.m.–8 p.m. Parking is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis, so rideshare is encouraged.
