DTLA Dog Days
June 16-17. Dog lovers get ready for a howling good time at DTLA’s two-day Dog Days event. Friday is the Dog Festival, where you can strike a pose with your best friend at the photo booth, get free bandanas and tote bags, groove to the beats with the DJ and more. Parks After Dark
Starts June 15. The LA County Department of Parks and Recreation is kicking off the Parks After Dark (PAD) program at Mayberry Park, commencing with a brief program and a 10-minute Zumba class. Sarah Rosalena: Standard Candle
June 17-18. Explore an exhibition by LACMA at the Mount Wilson Observatory, a mile above Los Angeles. Wander around the 100-inch Hooker telescope to see artist Sarah Rosalena’s installations, featuring blacklit curtains and lightboxes decorated with glass beads. These works honor the observatory’s celestial discoveries, the women who processed the data, and the land’s original inhabitants, the Tongva people.
