Victorian Houses, Vampire Movies and a Halloween Night With Room to Roam

Street Food Cinema’s final October double features turn Heritage Square into an adults-only movie outing with a setting of its own. The houses at Heritage Square already supply the atmosphere. For two remaining nights of Boo-ze, Bites & Frights, Street Food Cinema adds horror movies, haunted pathways and a bar inside a historic church.

The Oct. 23 program pairs Sinners with Blade, giving vampire-film fans two very different approaches to the genre. On Oct. 24, Jennifer’s Body shares the screen with Bodies Bodies Bodies, shifting the mood toward sharp-edged social horror and dark comedy.

Both evenings are for guests 21 and older. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., leaving time to explore before the first film; Friday’s Sinners screening is scheduled for 6:45 p.m. and Saturday’s first feature for 7 p.m.

The event’s appeal lies in how the setting becomes part of the outing. Heritage Square’s historic buildings give visitors somewhere to wander between arrival and the opening credits, while mansion tours, adult trick-or-treating, costume contests and live entertainment fill out the program.

Food trucks and three bars make dinner and drinks part of the evening, with the Shriekeasy lounge occupying the church. A rotating marketplace adds another reason to arrive early, though vendors vary by night.

For a group deciding between the two dates, the film pairings offer the clearest guide. Friday leans into vampire mythology; Saturday puts its characters’ relationships under a more wicked spotlight. Either way, this is an evening to allow time for the grounds, rather than arriving just as the movie begins.

The series then moves to The Ford for From Dusk Till Dawn on Oct. 30 and an interactive Rocky Horror Picture Show on Oct. 31. At Heritage Square, however, the final chance to watch horror among the Victorian houses arrives Oct. 24.
