The Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor: Summoned by the Seas Returns to Long Beach

The ocean mist rolls over Long Beach, carrying whispers from the decks of a ship that never truly sleeps. The Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor—one of California’s most legendary Halloween events—has returned, transforming the historic vessel into a fog-drenched carnival of ghosts, screams, and sinister charm. Running select nights through November 2, this year’s theme, “Summoned by the Seas,” reawakens the ship’s darkest legends, pulling guests into the Queen Mary’s haunted heart with new mazes, live entertainment, and a few diabolical surprises that only Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group could conjure.

For $45.99 and up, guests board the world’s most haunted ship, where real maritime lore blurs with theatrical terror. It’s not just a haunted house—it’s a full-blown haunted festival afloat, complete with bars, music, firelight, and an immersive lore that grows deeper every year.

Six Mazes. Infinite Nightmares.

Dark Harbor’s 2025 lineup dives deeper into nautical mythology and psychological horror. New this year, “Voodoo: The Queen’s Curse” summons a bayou priestess who commands the dead from the Queen’s own bowels. “Breakout: Maximum Security” drops guests into the chaos of a seaside prison overrun by Samuel the Savage, while “Feast: The Final Cut” turns the ship’s kitchens into a cannibal’s banquet.

Returning nightmares include “Big Top Terror,” where a cursed ringmaster traps souls in an infernal circus; “Infirmary,” a medical wing turned madhouse run by the twisted Dr. Masters and Graceful Gale; and “Lullaby,” where Scary Mary’s ghostly giggles haunt the first-class swimming pool. Each maze feels cinematic—long corridors, dripping bulkheads, and real steel echoing underfoot, giving Dark Harbor a weight no studio soundstage could match.

Beyond the Fog

Between scares, guests can grab a drink at the haunted speakeasies, roast marshmallows at S’mores Stations, or face their fears at Anchor Axe Throwing and the Pirate’s Plunder Shootout. For a quieter thrill, Lady Mabel’s Foresight Four Pack invites guests into hidden speakeasies through mystic tokens and astrology readings, while The Summoning of Samuel séance brings the supernatural to life—if you dare to stay.

VIPs can go all in with the RIP Guided Tour, featuring early entry, front-of-line access, and exclusive deck-side lounges. Those craving luxury with their screams can reserve a Creepy Cabana or Captain’s Double Cabana, complete with bottle service and a private visit from the Captain himself.

We’re taking the stories of the Queen Mary’s spirits to new heights this year,” says Amy Hollaman, Senior Regional Manager at Dark Harbor. “This isn’t just a haunted attraction—it’s a living, breathing narrative that evolves every night.”
