Los Angeles Wine & Food Festival 2024: Experience the Inaugural Gastronomic Celebration

This March, Santa Monica will host the inaugural Los Angeles Wine & Food Festival, a three-day event from March 1-3, 2024, that promises to be a vibrant celebration of Los Angeles’ diverse culinary scene and its intersection with culture. Presented by IMG, a global leader in events like Taste of London, Frieze, and New York Fashion Week: The Shows, this festival is set to bring a new dimension to LA’s food and wine festivities.

The festival unfolds over the course of three days – Friday and Saturday evenings, plus Sunday afternoon – and features walkaround tastings from an eclectic mix of the city’s most beloved local restaurants, including Holbox, Bé Ù, Chifa, Camphor, Pizzana, and Bridgetown Roti. These tastings promise a journey through the flavors that define LA’s culinary landscape, from innovative fusion to traditional dishes reimagined with modern flair.

But it’s not just about the food. The festival also boasts a lineup of all-female local DJs – DJ Millie, DJ Orange Calderon, and DJs Mango + Ginger – to curate a lively, party-like atmosphere. Themed rooms throughout the venue will offer immersive experiences, from visual to sensory, making each moment at the festival unique and memorable.

Highlight dishes from the headlining talent include a mix of traditional and avant-garde offerings: chili crunch beef noodles by Stephanie Izard of Girl & the Goat, cherrywood smoked pork shoulder by BBQ master Adam Perry Lang, and innovative creations like the coconut guanime with crab salmorejo by Natalia Valleja. Each day brings its own set of culinary delights, ensuring attendees will have a wide array of flavors to explore.

The festival venue itself will transform into a series of themed areas, each designed to enhance the culinary journey. The Sweets Room, envisioned as a whimsical sweet shop, includes desserts from top talent and an installation from Ananas Ananas. Meanwhile, the Punk Rock Room and Santa Monica and Skate Park Room pay homage to local culture and iconic beachfront vibes, respectively.

A standout feature of the festival is the Artist Plate Project, which connects the culinary arts with visual arts in partnership with Frieze Los Angeles. This project features 50 limited-edition plates designed by world-renowned artists, including Virgil Abloh, with all proceeds benefiting charity.
