The Japan Food Product Overseas Promotion Center (JFOODO) is set to ignite the culinary scene in Los Angeles with its electrifying “Spark Your Senses” event. This third annual Shochu Month, running from January 18th through February 17th, diving you into the world of Shochu, Japan’s beloved spirit.
Nine Bars, Infinite Flavors
Nine of Los Angeles’ most renowned bars are participating, including Accomplice Bar, Death&Co LA, Employees Only LA, Gold Line, Redbird, Steep LA, The Lincoln, The Semi-Tropic and Thunderbolt. Each venue will offer two unique cocktails, meticulously crafted by LA’s top mixologists. The highlight? A reinvented Shochu Highball, JFOODO’s signature, promising a refreshing taste that perfectly accentuates Shochu’s rich aroma and flavor.
Shochu Week: A Star-Studded Kickoff
The month-long celebration begins with “Shochu Week” from January 18th to January 24th. The opening night at Death&Co LA will host a special “Shochu Night” pop-up event, where patrons can indulge in two Shochu drinks for $25. This week will also see the participation of Shuzo Nagumo, one of the world’s most acclaimed bartenders, bringing his extraordinary Shochu expertise to the Los Angeles bars.
Special Guests, Exclusive Experiences
On February 6th, Redbird LA will host another “Shochu Night,” featuring Takuma Watanabe, a legendary figure in the bartending world. With over two decades of experience and accolades like ranking in the World Class Top 10, Watanabe’s presence is set to elevate the Shochu experience.
