A free two-hour celebration gives families an early start on Oct. 31. The costumes can come out before the porch lights do. Anaheim Hills Festival’s Halloween Boo-Nanza runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Oct. 31, giving families a daytime outing before the evening’s trick-or-treating begins.
The shopping center’s free event combines trick-or-treating at participating stores and restaurants with a live DJ, face painting, balloon twisting and seasonal photo opportunities. Costumes are encouraged, so the same outfit can get a second outing without requiring another late night.
The short, clearly defined schedule is part of the appeal. Families can build a visit around a few activities, leave time for lunch and still keep the rest of Halloween open. For children who prefer daylight or a less theatrical setting, the program offers a straightforward alternative to an evening built around scares.
It is a community shopping-center celebration, so arrive with expectations matched to the format: activities and participating businesses spread across a familiar retail setting. The organizer recommends coming early to enjoy the offerings.
Admission is free, but meals and ordinary shopping purchases remain separate. Bring a treat bag, check the center’s event page before heading out and decide how long the group wants to stay. A manageable Halloween plan can be a good one—especially when it leaves enough energy for the neighborhood rounds later.
