In Beverly Hills, just before the red carpets roll out and flashbulbs take over Hollywood, a quieter kind of gathering unfolds behind the gates of a private estate. Debbie Durkin’s 19th Annual ECOLUXE Pre-Oscars Luxury Lounge doesn’t chase spectacle—it builds an atmosphere. One where celebrity, wellness, and purpose intersect, and where rescue dogs move through the same rooms as actors, stylists, and media insiders.
The invitation-only daytime event, benefiting Wagmor Pets Dog Rescue, draws a steady flow of guests across the afternoon. Some arrive between fittings and press runs. Others stay longer, moving from one activation to the next—pausing for conversations, portraits, or a moment with the dogs waiting to be adopted.
At the center of the experience, photographer David Christopher Lee’s pop-up portrait studio becomes a constant. Guests step in and out, creating a rhythm of documentation that mirrors awards season itself—quick, intentional, and highly visible. Nearby, Wagmor’s rescue dogs and puppies aren’t staged as an accessory, but as the reason the room exists—held, photographed, and, in some cases, quietly claimed.

The culinary program leans precise. Asakura delivers elevated japanese cuisine led by owner Makoto Okamoto and sous chef Masaki Ishiba, while 85°C Bakery Cafe balances it out with matcha drinks and pastries that move easily through the crowd. At the bar, 7 Deseos mezcal and Don Felix tequila anchor the spirits program, joined by Above Board Liqueurs and non-alcoholic cocktails from Tipsy AF, giving guests a full spectrum of options without losing momentum.

Around the property, brands build out their own worlds. Fayah Athletics introduces its latest collections—designer sunglasses, menswear, and a new FAYAH x ADURA apparel line that leans into luxury golfwear and outerwear. Minky Couture’s Pet Couture installation draws a different kind of attention, pairing plush pet beds and vests with adoptable dogs in a portrait-driven setup that blurs fashion and advocacy.
Elsewhere, smaller details fill in the edges—Cass Candles CHC adding scent to the space, wellness-driven products from TIDL Sport and Everyday Dose finding their way into conversations, and Marcy’s Pet Kitchen reinforcing the event’s throughline: care, both for people and for animals.

By late afternoon, the event settles into what it does best—connection. Not loud, not rushed, but intentional. ECOLUXE has long positioned itself differently within awards season, and its staying power—now in its 19th year—comes from that clarity. It’s not just a pre-Oscars stop. It’s a platform where visibility meets responsibility, and where influence, even in small moments, can shift outcomes.
For Wagmor Pets Dog Rescue, those outcomes are immediate—dogs leaving with new homes, or at the very least, new attention. For everyone else, it’s a reminder that in a weekend built on recognition, there’s still space to redirect the spotlight.
