On Saturday, August 29, Beefsteak returns to Redbird and Vibiana for its 11th annual celebration, bringing together acclaimed chef Neal Fraser, legendary Tuscan butcher Dario Cecchini, celebrated chef Mary Sue Milliken, and an all-star cast of hosts and culinary personalities for an unforgettable evening dedicated to steak, storytelling, wine, and communal revelry.
Inspired by the extravagant beef feasts that captivated both Florence and New York during the 19th century, Beefsteak revives the spirit of these legendary gatherings with a modern Los Angeles perspective: mountains of expertly prepared beef served family-style, endless conversation, flowing wine and cocktails, live entertainment, and the joyful excess that has transformed Beefsteak into one of Southern California’s most anticipated dining events.

This year’s event marks a particularly special occasion with the appearance of Dario Cecchini, widely regarded as the world’s most famous butcher. From his renowned butcher shop in Panzano, Italy, Cecchini has spent decades preserving Tuscan culinary traditions while becoming an international culinary icon through his books, television appearances, and passionate advocacy for craftsmanship, hospitality, and the art of gathering around a table.
For the first time, Cecchini will join Chef Neal Fraser for an exclusive culinary collaboration celebrating heritage, tradition, and the timeless ritual of sharing a meal. VIP guests will receive early entry and exclusive dishes prepared by Cecchini himself.
Joining Fraser and Cecchini for the festivities is legendary chef and restaurateur Mary Sue Milliken, while longtime Beefsteak hosts Matt Selman, Cort Cass, Eric Wareheim, and emcee Billy Harris return to provide the humor, storytelling, and spirited camaraderie that have become hallmarks of the annual event.
For one evening, the historic Redbird and Vibiana campus in Downtown Los Angeles transforms into a grand feast hall where guests are encouraged to embrace the communal spirit of the evening. Long tables overflow with platters of beef passed from guest to guest, while curated wine pairings, cocktails, live entertainment, and surprise culinary moments create an atmosphere that feels part dinner party, part theatrical experience.
Beyond the feast itself, this year’s Beefsteak supports a meaningful cause. A portion of proceeds will benefit Regarding Her, the nonprofit organization founded by Mary Sue Milliken dedicated to advancing and accelerating women-owned businesses throughout the food and beverage industry.
