Coronado Flower Show

April 12-13. A Coronado tradition for more than 100 years, the Coronado Flower Show is Coronado’s longest-running community event and the largest tented flower show in the U.S. This year’s theme: “Cirque des Fleurs,” inspired by vintage circuses and the elegance of floral artistry. Peruse dazzling floral displays at Spreckels Park and partake in myriad events, including a youth workshop, movie night under the tents, a village walkabout, floral-themed menus at local restaurants, and “The Greatest Party on Earth” soiree presented by the 1922 Club. Uncorked: San Diego Wine Fest

April 12. Embarcadero Marina Park North transforms into a bayfront oasis for oenophiles at Uncorked. Offerings at the 10th annual event include more than 150 wines from around the world; plus bubbly, hard cider, seltzer, canned cocktails and mocktails; along with a live DJ, photo booth, lawn game lounge, local food trucks and San Diego Bay views. Little Victory Wine Bar

Opens April 9. Celebrate life’s little victories at Little Victory Wine Bar, by husband-and-wife team Jeremy Simpson and Kirsten Potenza. The European-inspired natural wine bar offers quaint indoor/outdoor seating, a curated wine list representing vintners from California and around the world, and global plates infused with seasonal SoCal ingredients—dreamt up by chefs Kelly and Elliott Townsend. North Park Vegan Market Pop-Up

April 12. Carnivores, herbivores and omnivores alike will make tasty discoveries at the city’s biggest vegan food market, which pops up on Saturday at North Park Mini Park. Explore plant-based culinary delights from 60-plus vendors from San Diego, Orange County and Los Angeles—including pastries and doughnuts, salads and produce, juices, teas, vegan sushi, pizza, pastas and other noodles, Mexican fare and more. Brisa Restaurant & Bar

Now Open. Serving Latin American and Japanese fusion cuisine by chef James Montejano, Brisa Restaurant & Bar is now open in Little Italy. Owner Jennifer Reinhart’s casually elegant outpost translates to “breeze” in Spanish, boasting a gleaming low-lit bar and subtle tropical decor. Springtime Tea at La Valencia

Select Dates. Spring is in the air and in your teacup at La Valencia Hotel. La Jolla’s iconic “Pink Lady” celebrates the season with the return of its springtime tea service—offered on select dates through May 9 at the hotel’s Mediterranean Room. The experience includes a complimentary glass of bubbly to start, a selection of DAMMANN Frères French teas, house-made scones, tea sandwiches, quiche, mini pastries and postcard-worthy views of La Jolla Cove. Cygnet Theatre: The Hot Wing King

April 9-May 2. Cygnet Theatre brings us a fierce comedy, The Hot Wing King, at Old Town Theatre. Playwright Katori Hall’s Pulitzer Prize winner takes us to Memphis for its highly competitive “Hot Wang Festival.” With the support of his partner Dwayne and their friends, Cordell Crutchfield is bent on the winning the competition’s crown … until his troubled nephew enters the picture amid a family tragedy, and chaos ensues. Point Loma Playhouse: First Date

Through April 20. A snapshot of the world of modern dating, Point Loma Playhouse presents the romantic musical comedy First Date at the Point Loma Assembly hall, running select dates through April 20. Based on the book by Austin Winsbeg—with lyrics by Alan Zachary and Michael Weiner—the story centers on blind date newbie Aaron and serial dater Casey, whose casual first date turns into quite the roller coaster of an unforgettable evening. Lamb’s Players Theatre: Once The Musical

Extended Through May 11. Recipient of the San Diego Theatre Critics Circle Award for “Outstanding Musical” in 2018, Lamb’s Players Theatre brings us Once The Musical, once again, just extended a third and final time by popular demand. Kerry Meads directs the beloved Irish musical—based on the book by Enda Walsh, music and lyrics by Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová, and musical direction by G. Scott Lacey—complete from Lamb’s original cast of actors, singers, dancers and musicians from the production seven years ago.
