For the month of February, the Island Hotel in Newport Beach has set up heaven on earth in their Palm Terrace restaurant-chocolate heaven, that is. The Cocoa Lounge is back for the fourth consecutive year with walls draped in red velvet, stunning chocolate art sculptures and a seemingly endless exhibit of chocolate creativity from the imaginations of Pastry Chef Michael Owens. Indulge in chocolate bread pudding with bourbon cream, financier s’mores, port truffles, cream cheese peanut butter brownies and fresh fruit tarts (for those not as enamored with chocolate) and 12 other sweet treats. Access to the pop-up dessert lounge is $24 or $12 if you spoil your valentine with dinner at the Palm Terrace first.
