London-based line launches first West Coast location
It took nearly 50 years, but iconic British retailer Reiss—whose fans include Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, and Kate Middleton and Prince William, Duchess and Duke of Cambridge—has arrived in Southern California. The brand’s headquarters are near London’s iconic Mayfair neighborhood; the new boutique is at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa.
Reiss is known for sharp tailoring, signature coats and seductive evening wear; the label recently added refined jerseys and knits.
Despite the line’s British heritage, California has long been a source of inspiration, says creative director James Spreckley: California has “always been ahead of the curve when it comes to lifestyle movements and ideas. It’s about craft, but with freedom of spirit.”
