Fall Into Books Fest
Sept. 20. It began with a friendship cultivated by two small bookish business owners that wanted to bring more diverse and financially accessible events to the SoCal community. Emily and Ayesha also loved the idea of a Fall themed book festival, reminiscent of fall festivals and scholastic book fairs as a kid. Dozynki Harvest Festival
Sept. 20-21. Celebrating Polish culture with food, music dancing and exhibits. Dozynki is a celebration of thanksgiving after a bountiful harvest that dates back to 16th century Poland. It remains a long-standing tradition in Polish communities throughout the world, including the United States and Canada. The Dozynki will feature Polish folk dancers in traditional costumes plus delicious polish food such as freshly prepared stuffed cabbage, traditional pierogi, authentic Polska Kielbasa and Polish beer. Paula Poundstone
Sept. 20. Paula Poundstone is known for her smart, observational humor and spontaneous wit that has become the stuff of legend. Time magazine, in its March 2020 “Best of” issue, listed Paula’s HBO special Cats, Cops and Stuff as one of the “5 Funniest Stand-Up Specials Ever. She was the first female comic, in the White House Correspondents’ Dinner’s then-73-year history, to perform at the event.
