Sept. 12-14. Orange County’s original fashion week returns with three panel discussions featuring experts and influencers in fashion and beauty, among them actress Kat Graham, jewelry designer Gorjana Reidel, Planoly founder Brandy Pham and influencer Cassydy Berliner. The event, free to the public, promises celebrity-bran pop-up shops, activations throughout the center and in-store parties. Women’s brand Simply is co-host. David Spade at the Brea Improv
Sept. 13-14. American actor, stand-up comedian, writer and television personality David Spade takes center stage for a two-night comedy special. The audience might recognize Spade from Netflix’s original comedy The Do-Over; he’s known for his heavy sarcasm and comedic self-deprecation. F 7:30 p.m. Sa 9:30 p.m. $45. 180 S. The Queen Mary’s Doggie Paradise
Sept. 14. The Queen Mary debuts an afternoon of canine fun at Doggie Paradise. The event is intended for four-legged friends of any size or breed and their two-legged friends. Highlights include educational workshops at the Bark-eology Tent, dog-themed entertainment on the Pawfect Performance Stage and a “cutest dog” contest. 11 a.m.-5 p.m. $25 GA (includes one human and one dog), $50 VIP (includes one human and one dog), plus $5 per additional dog. Salt & Straw’s Student Inventors Series
Now Available. Salt & Straw head ice cream maker Tyler Malek and team are back with their annual offerings inspired by suggestions from local elementary students. They brought three Jefferson Elementary students’ scoop dreams to life with the flavors Magical Unicorn-ice-cream, Lady Noir and Frozen Prezall, available through Oct. 4. The names and descriptions (typos and all) were authored by each student inventor. A portion of proceeds are donated to the school’s PTA. Taste of Japan
Sept. 14. Celebrate Japanese culture and cuisine at this first-ever tasting event in downtown Long Beach. The family-friendly festival features a wide variety of culinary treats available for purchase plus Japanese art, anime and on-stage performances. Cirque Mei
Sept. 14-15. From People’s Republic of China, Hebei Province, Cirque Mei features traditional and contemporary Chinese circus with 40 elite artists and acrobats. Performances include many of the most popular Chinese circus routines, among them hoop diving, lion dance, collective bicycle skills, flying meteors, foot juggling with umbrellas, female contortion and ladder balancing. Concert on the Green
