The California Restaurant Show Returns

Begins Aug. 3. The California Restaurant Show will take over the Anaheim Convention Center from Sunday, August 3 to Tuesday, August 5, uniting the region’s most passionate restaurant and foodservice professionals for three dynamic days of innovation, inspiration, and connection. Fitness Expo Is Back

20th Annual “Just Plein Fun” at Balboa Island

Until Aug. 1. Eleven award-winning artists from across the country will set up their easels on Balboa Island for Just Plein Fun, a weeklong celebration of plein air painting in Newport Beach. Hosted by the Huse Skelly Gallery, the event invites the public to engage in several ways. Watch the artists at work daily and view their fresh paintings for sale at the gallery. On Friday, don’t miss The Brush Off from 4 to 6 p.m. on Marine Avenue, where artists will compete in a timed street scene challenge, backed by live music. Cliff Beach at Festival of Arts

Aug. 3. Cliff Beach is a seasoned musician and author with over two decades of live performance experience and a sound rooted in funk, soul, and authenticity. His single “Confident” has garnered over a million streams and earned spots on Spotify’s All Funked Up and Funk Drive playlists. Beach also hosts Deeper Grooves on 885FM and the Deeper Grooves Podcast, where he explores the intersection of music and storytelling. His book Side Hustle & Flow chronicles his journey balancing artistry with a day job, earning him a World Entertainment Award nomination for its audiobook. A recipient of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest Grand Prize, multiple Global Music Awards, and more, Beach’s music has recently been featured on the CW, HBO Max, and in a BMW campaign.
