Two decades after its inaugural flight, NASA space shuttle Endeavour, piggybacked atop a special Boeing 747, touched down at Los Angeles International Airport in September. The momentous landing was the end of one era for Endeavour and the beginning of another—this time, as an attraction and teaching tool at the California Science Center in Exposition Park. Visit Endeavour at the Center’s Samuel Oschin Space Shuttle Endeavour Display Pavilion while its permanent home, the Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center, is being built. Also make sure to check out the companion exhibit Endeavour: The California Story to learn about the orbiter, its ties to California and its fascinating legacy in space; and snag a ride on the flight simulator as well.
