Fans of Slater’s 50/50 can’t get enough of its burgers, cheese fries and other bacon-inflected dishes. Now you can get your fix at Slater’s 50/50 Pasadena.
Bacon ketchup. Bacon mac ‘n’ cheese balls. Bacon brownies. Fans of Slater’s 50/50 can’t get enough of its bacon-inflected dishes or any of the other decadent, creative and sometimes wacky menu items dreamed up by founder Scott Slater and executive chef Brad Lyons. Since their 2009 invention of the 50/50 burger—its patty comprising 50 percent ground bacon and 50 percent ground beef—the Anaheim Hills restaurant has expanded to three more locations, including its newest, in Pasadena. Meanwhile, Slater compiled guests’ requests for “more crunch, more spice, more bacon, more unique flavor combinations and more sweets,” and added dishes such as the Pop Rocks Milkshake, Top Ramen Salad and B’B’B’ Bacon Burger to the menu. Fortunately, there are more than 100 craft, imported and domestic beers on tap to wash down all that bacon. Take a peek at what we ate on our first visit there:
