Cafe del Rey

Cafe del Rey Celebrates National Surf & Turf Day, Feb. 28

There seem to be holidays for everything these days, so why not celebrate National Surf & Turf Day? The newly remodeled and culinarily revamped Cafe del Rey is doing just that by offering a “Mix ‘n’ Match Menu,” featuring  choices of one of three “Turf” items (Flat Iron, Petite Chateau, and Veal Scallopini) and one of three “Surf” items (Prawns, Scallops, and Seared Ahi Tuna) for $38. Round it out with sautéed haricots verts and wild mushrooms, as well as guests’ choice of two additional sides, either savory polenta or mashed potatoes. If you’re still up for a nosh, off-the-menu themed appetizers include Kumamoto Oysters with Foie Gras; Seared Tenderloin Medallion with Scampi Prawn; and a Slider Duo, featuring a Prime Beef Slider with Caramelized Onions and White cheddar and a Dungeness Crab Cake with Harissa Aioli. Not bad for getting the best of both worlds. Cafe del Rey 4451 Admiralty Way, Marina del Rey, 310.823.6395. www.cafedelreymarina.com
