Nick and Stef’s Steakhouse
May 18. For his latest monthly whole animal dinner, Nick and Stef’s Steakhouse Chef Andreas Roller focuses on a Napa Valley spring lamb. The evening will begin with a mezcal cocktail reception, followed by a five-course dinner featuring the lamb in unique preparations (think bucatini with braised lamb ragu and a grilled cheese with Lou Rey Fermier sheep’s milk and pear mostarda), and conclude with a warm Valrhona chocolate fondant cake. 6:30 p.m. $85/pp, $120/pp with wine pairings. nickandstefs.com

“In the Kitchen” Chef’s Table at Four Seasons Westlake Village
May 19. Embark on a culinary adventure at Four Seasons Westlake Village when Executive Chef Jesse Hansen hand-selects artisanal ingredients to feature at “In the Kitchen” Chef’s Table, a new monthly dinner series. The intimate evening is limited to 24 guests who will feast on a four-course menu created by Chef Hansen. This month Chef Hansen has sourced olive oil from artisanal, small batch olive oil producers from California and throughout the world to star on a menu that offers dishes like olive oil-poached lobster with tarragon gnocchi, ricotta-stuffed squash blossom, shaved baby squash and black truffle; peppered olive oil sous vide Liberty Farms duck breast served with crisp skin, Ranier cherry, endive salad, olive oil duck confit, new potato and cherry duck glaze; apricot bavaroise with olive oil genoise; and more. $85/pp, with wine pairings and cocktails also available. Pizza Romana
May 19, 21. Stop by the Pizza Romana for two exciting events this week. On Thursday, the pizzeria turns wine tasting into an exciting affair when they open up their wine room and transform it into a casual “Enoteca” every Thursday night starting this week. Enjoy tastes from Alex Palermo’s extensive collection of regional Italian wines, small bites of pizza bianca (pizza bread), cheese and salumi. You’ll also get 20% off all bottles of wine purchased that evening. Smoke’s Poutinerie
May 19. Not that you really need a reason to eat poutine, but the Hollywood outpost of Smoke’s Poutinerie is sharing the revenue of anything purchased on Thursday with the Canadian Red Cross to support victims of the Fort McMurray fires. For the first-ever wine dinner to be held at the restaurant, Executive Chef Lechleidner and Sommelier Jörn Kleinhans have collaborated on a five-course menu that features pairings like whole roasted Peking duck paired with 2006 Pierre Gaillard “Côte Rôtie” from Rhône, France; and chocolate forest cake with house-preserved Murray’s cherries paired with a Dow’s 20 Year Tawny Porto from Portugal. ritzcarlton.com

Kimchi and Wieners at The Theatre at Ace Hotel
May 22. Celebrate the release of Lucky Peach editor Chris Ying’s latest encased-meat compendium, The Wurst of Lucky Peach, with a Korean-inspired feast. The “sausage shindig” goes down in the lobby of The Theatre at Ace Hotel where you’ll get a copy of the book, food food by Hanjip Korean BBQ and chef Chris Oh, Tiger Beer, fun printed surprises by digital print and design company MOO, a DJ set by Them Jeans (The Stew Podcast), Baby Ketten Karaoke, meet-and-greet with Ying and more. Studio City is the newest destination for the Portland-based ice cream purveyor known for its artisanal, chef-driven approach to an American classic.
