This spectacle of free-running horses that marries equestrian arts with live music and dance, acrobatics and high-tech theatrical effects, arrives under a 10-story-tall white big top in downtown Burbank. The dream-like production, created by one of the founders of Cirque du Soleil, involves 61 horses and 44 performers, including riders, aerialists, acrobats, dancers and musicians. Other highlights include the 15,000 square-foot stage that features a real carousel and a magically appearing 80,000-gallon lake in front of a stunning video backdrop the size of 3 IMAX screens.
The show begins with 10 horses playing on stage and builds through a variety of equestrian vignettes, including jumping, dressage, carousel, trick, stunt, Roman and Cossack riding. Odysseo features more horses than any other stage show has ever attempted and ultimately celebrates the intimate bond between man and horse.
