Oktoberfest at Benny Boy Brewing

Puccini’s “Madame Butterfly” Soars at Opening Night

Cion: Requiem of Ravel’s Boléro
Sept. 21. Gregory Maqoma, one of South Africa’s most acclaimed artists, presents Cion: Requiem of Ravel’s Boléro, a blend of music and dance that has captivated critics worldwide. Set in a graveyard, it follows a mourner grappling with the tensions of post-Apartheid South Africa. Featuring an African gospel quartet and a live score based on Isicathamiya harmonies, Maqoma describes it as a celebration of human experience and a ritual to bring peace to those lost through slavery. Getty Presents Spectrum 14 by Charles Ross

Artist Charles Ross has been invited to create the second installation in the Getty Museum’s Rotunda Commission series as part of the upcoming exhibition Lumen: The Art and Science of Light. His work features large acrylic prisms that cast dynamic patterns of sunlight across the space, each precisely angled to capture sunlight at specific times throughout the day and year.
