Sept. 30-Oct. 1. Head to downtown Long Beach for KCRW’s annual festival of music, food and art. The fest features an impressive lineup of carefully curated musical acts such as Ween, Sleater-Kinney, Los Lobos, Of Montreal, among many others. Sunset & Dine
Sept. 28. The annual food festival celebrates the eclectic and innovative culinary concepts on and around the famed intersection of Sunset and Vine in Hollywood. Front Porch Cinema
Sept. 29-Oct. 27. Unwind on Santa Monica Pier over films, food, drinks and more every Friday night this fall. COAST Open Streets Festival

Feria de los Moles

Boo at the LA Zoo
Oct. 1-31. The Los Angeles Zoo offers Halloween fun the kids can get in on with festive additions every day. Starts Sept. 29. Westfield Topanga and the California Certified Farmer’s Markets (CCFM) have joined forces to introduce a weekly farmers market on Friday evenings. Sapor Restaurant & Bar
The Koreatown restaurant boom continues with the new globally inspired restaurant from executive chef Matthew Ignacio and mixologist Vincenzo Marianella (Copa d’Oro). Highlights of the menu include scallops with brown butter powder, sauce segreto, kataifi and capers; a 12-ounce ribeye; and daily pasta and pizza specials. Sapor’s Tapas Hour (daily from 3-5 p.m. and 9 p.m.-midnight) offers creative small dishes like lamb ribs with Dukkah; fried chicken wings with garlic glaze and romesco; and pork belly with beet, stone fruit mustard, red-vein sorrel and “dirt” (made from beet pulp). Cocktail influences span the globe with drinks like the Tokyo Velvet (Toki whisky, ginger syrup and fresh lemon juice) and Chiquihuitillo Collins (Arrete tequila, amaro montenegro, lemon juice, agave nectar, orange bitters and pilsner). Vinovore
The new Silver Lake wine shop gives a fresh taste on shopping for bottles by focusing on organic, biodynamic and natural varieties made by female winemakers in an approachable environment. The spot is co-owned by Coly Den Haan, a sommelier and wine pioneer who showcased her vino point of view when she successfully opened downtown’s Perch and The Must.
