 Rooftop Movie Nights at Hollywood Volume

June 9. As summer arrives, Desert 5 Spot teams up with LA’s beloved outdoor cinema, CINEHAUS, to present rooftop movie nights at Hollywood VOLUME. Kicking off this Thursday, June 5, with the cult-classic Footloose, guests can relax poolside with craft cocktails, popcorn and their favorite movie snacks beneath the glow of the Hollywood skyline. Friday Night Wine Tastings

June 6. Barnsdall Park’s summer wine tastings have become an iconic L.A. tradition, regularly drawing sold-out crowds to the west lawn atop Olive Hill, beside the historic Hollyhock House (available for evening tours at an additional $36). Curated by Silverlake Wine, each Friday evening offers boutique wines paired with breathtaking sunsets and panoramic city views. Pack a picnic, bring a blanket, or sample from the lineup of popular food trucks onsite. Now exclusively for guests 21 and over, it’s ideal for a romantic night out. Sunday Sessions at the Malibu Pier

Starts June 8. Cruise the reopened PCH to Malibu Pier and support local businesses recovering from the Palisades Fire. Every second Sunday this summer, the boardwalk comes alive with free live music from Aviator Nation Dreamland, food and drink and pop-ups from local vendors. A portion of all purchases benefits California State Parks, making it a laid-back way to give back while soaking up the sun. Pride Village Concert 

June 8. Alaska headlines this year’s LA Pride Village music event this weekend, kicking off with a special performance by Da Brat & Jessica Betts. The high-energy lineup includes DIDI J, 76th Street, Laura Bryna, Julian King, ANG and LA’s local LGBTQ+ stars like Chanel Jolé, Binoy, Tony Pops, Debby Holiday, DJ Justin Deané and more. It’s free for the public, as the Pride Village kicks off with two stages, 80+ vendors and nonprofits, engaging sponsor activations, diverse food options and two full-service bars (21+). Bar Avoja, A New Roman Lounge from Chef Evan Funke

Now Open. The newest concept from Mother Wolf Group’s Giancarlo Pagani and Chef Evan Funke, Bar Avoja is now open behind Mother Wolf in Hollywood—an intimate Roman-inspired lounge styled like a private villa, layered with moody textures, candlelight and hushed elegance. Avoja invites guests into a “third space” where Roman street food meets L.A. nightlife, featuring a items such as pizza al taglio with crispy corners, golden arancini cacio e pepe, delicate fiori di zucca and house-made dolci. Puppets and Pride with Bob Baker Marionette Theater

June 7-8. A beloved L.A. institution, Bob Baker Marionette Theater brings its whimsical charm to the Academy Museum for two free Saturday performances during Pride Month. Staged in the Sidney Poitier Grand Lobby, the musical puppet show celebrates love, identity and community through songs from LGBTQ+ icons and queer history. American Indian Arts Festival

June 7-8. The 34th annual American Indian Arts Festival returns to the Autry with a weekend of Indigenous art, dance, poetry and fashion. Shop handcrafted pottery, beadwork and jewelry from Native artists, with highlights including spoken-word poetry, powwow and hoop dancing, a block-printing lab, plus a meet-and-greet with an Indigenous Star Wars droid. While there, explore the Future Imaginaries exhibit, showcasing Indigenous innovation in art, fashion and technology.
