Lunar New Year in Monterey Park
Jan. 18-19. Celebrate Lunar New Year in Monterey Park at this two-day festival, a centerpiece of L.A.’s Chinese community. Spanning five downtown blocks, the event features folk art, diverse food vendors and a carnival zone. Festivities begin Saturday morning with traditional dragon and lion dancers. With past attendance exceeding 100,000, visitors are encouraged to use free parking and shuttle services at Mark Keppel High School, Barnes Park, Ynez Elementary School and Repetto Elementary School. Los Feliz Flea to Host Donation Drive and Volunteer Opportunity
Jan. 18. Vintage Land is partnering with the Los Feliz Flea to host a donation drop-off and volunteer event supporting those affected by the recent Southern California wildfires. Donations can be dropped off at the VR Escape Room on the building’s ground floor. Attendees are encouraged to contribute essential items or volunteer to support the local community. Starts Jan. 19. ROW DTLA hosts a bustling food market featuring a mix of popular pop-ups and emerging culinary talent. The market features a mix of established pop-ups and emerging talent, offering everything from Maine lobster and michoacán-style carnitas to plant-based Mexican fare and artisan baked goods. LA Fires Fundraiser at Pop-Up Wine Tasting Room
Jan. 19. Fuil Wines will donate all tasting fees and host a raffle to support Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles in response to the recent fires. The monthly pop-up series is based at Buvette Wine Bar in Sherman Oaks, offering $15 tasting flights and $5 flights for union members with valid ID. Punk’s Not Dead
Jan. 18-25. Honor Fraser gallery welcomes Nadya Tolokonnikova, Pussy Riot founder and feminist activist, as its artist-in-residence. Known for her protest-driven performances and past imprisonment in Moscow, she presents an exhibition of self-portraits and sculptural installations exploring resistance and incarceration. The show opens with the debut L.A. performance of Pussy Riot Siberia and special closing performance on its last day.
