The program includes Honegger’s “Pastorale d’été,” Dubugnon’s “Caprice IV,” Schumann’s “Violin Concerto in D minor,” and Beethoven’s “Romance in F major” and “Symphony No. 4 in B-flat Major.” Midori, a violin virtuoso who debuted with the New York Philharmonic at 11, joins the Swiss ensemble at The Soraya, showcasing her dual roles as a celebrated musician and a human rights activist. A USC Distinguished Professor, Midori will perform Beethoven’s Romance and Schumann’s enigmatic Violin Concerto, which remained hidden posthumously for 80 years. The evening concludes with Beethoven’s infrequently performed Symphony No. 4.
