Pre-concert lecture by Classical California KUSC’s Brian Lauritzen at 7pm
Trinidadian soprano Jeanine De Bique appears with renowned period instrument orchestra Concerto Köln in a program celebrating female protagonists. Juxtaposing a series of Handel heroines against their counterparts in operas by Handel’s contemporaries, Carl Heinrich Graun and Riccardo Broschi, De Bique will sing arias from works such as Rodrigo, Giulio Cesare, Rodelinda, Partenope, and more.
