There are few places in Los Angeles County where the Pacific feels this close. At Terranea Resort, summer is unfolding across cliffside trails, telescope lenses, kayak routes, and oceanfront lawns designed for slowing down and paying attention to the coast again.
Set along the rugged bluffs of Rancho Palos Verdes, the luxury resort has unveiled a new season of immersive outdoor programming centered around what travelers are increasingly craving: connection, movement, and experiences rooted in nature rather than screens.
Leading the lineup is the expanded Stargazing Tour of the Night Sky, launching May 23 and taking place every other Saturday at Catalina Point. Guided by resident astronomer and astrophotographer Mirko Maher, guests can observe galaxies, nebulae, planets, and star clusters through advanced telescopes while gathered around fireside s’mores, hot chocolate, coffee, and tea overlooking the Pacific. Adults can also sip the resort’s “Starlight” cocktail made with Tito’s vodka, mango, lemon, coconut water, and butterfly pea tea while photographing celestial views directly through the telescope.

“People are craving experiences that allow them to disconnect from screens and reconnect with the natural world,” said General Manager Nick Untermann.
The programming stretches far beyond the night sky. This summer, the resort is introducing wellness and social experiences including Goat Yoga, Silent Disco Nights, Neon Rush laser tag, Coastal Resin Board workshops, and outdoor live music overlooking the coastline.

Guests looking to explore the Palos Verdes Peninsula can book kayaking tours, stand-up paddleboarding excursions, tide pooling adventures, guided coastal hikes, archery, falconry encounters, and plein air painting sessions through the resort’s Experience Center. Sports enthusiasts can also spend the afternoon at The Links at Terranea, the resort’s scenic nine-hole oceanfront golf course, or nearby tennis and pickleball courts.
The launch also coincides with Terranea’s new Golden American Summer package, celebrating the lead-up to America’s 250th anniversary with a complimentary fourth night stay and a $250 resort credit.
Whether it is spotting Saturn’s rings over the Pacific or hiking the bluffs before sunset, Terranea’s summer programming leans into a slower kind of luxury — one built around the coastline itself.
