Marina del Rey, CA — The sun cast a golden hue over Mother’s Beach as I arrived for an exclusive demo of the LIND Canvas electric surfboard. Known for its tranquil waters and family-friendly atmosphere, Mother’s Beach provided the perfect backdrop for this electrifying experience.
Meeting Tim: The Details Behind LIND’s Marketing
Tim, LIND’s Head of Marketing, greeted me with the enthusiasm of someone who truly believes in their product. His passion was palpable as he introduced me to the Canvas, LIND’s flagship electric surfboard that’s been making waves in the water sports community.

“At LIND, we’ve married classic surfboard craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology,” Tim began, running his hand along the sleek surface of the Canvas. “Each board is shaped from EPS foam, glassed in epoxy resin, and features an oak wood tail block and stringer. This not only gives it a timeless aesthetic but also ensures durability and performance.”Tim, LIND’s Head of Marketing, greeted me with the enthusiasm of someone who truly believes in their product. His passion was palpable as he introduced me to the Canvas, LIND’s flagship electric surfboard that’s been making waves in the water sports community.
He continued, “Despite its robust build, the board itself weighs just 15 pounds, making it light enough to carry under one arm. When you add the battery and jet propulsion system, the total weight comes to 74 pounds. But don’t let that number fool you; once you’re on the water, the power and agility of the Canvas make you forget about the weight.”

Tim then delved into the board’s performance capabilities. “The Canvas is equipped with a 20 kW jet drive, delivering speeds of up to 37 mph. The swappable battery pack offers up to 45 minutes of ride time and can be recharged in about two hours using a standard outlet. It’s designed for those who crave both speed and endurance on the water.”
My Maiden Voyage: Embracing the Electric Surfing Revolution

With Tim’s guidance, I prepared for my first ride. The Canvas boasts a modular design, allowing for easy assembly in under a minute. Its wireless remote control felt intuitive, offering seamless acceleration and braking at my fingertips.
Pushing off from the shore, I felt the gentle hum of the jet propulsion beneath me. The initial sensation was exhilarating—the board responded swiftly to my movements, carving through the calm waters of Mother’s Beach with precision. The absence of waves didn’t diminish the thrill; instead, the Canvas created its own momentum, offering a surfing experience that was both unique and accessible.
Also, as words of advice, the only challenge here is that you have to make sure you get used to the overall movement of the board. Because there is not build up to a wave, it does take a few tries to wrap around the concept of moving around water (I’m a beginner when it comes to surfing, so I needed a few tries). If you have a great apprehension of a surfboard, this board is easy to use.
Summer Demos: Bringing the Canvas to Southern California
As our session wrapped up, Tim shared exciting news. “This summer, we’re hosting demo events across Southern California. It’s an opportunity for enthusiasts and newcomers alike to experience the Canvas firsthand. We believe that once people try it, they’ll understand the revolution we’re bringing to the world of surfing.”
Reflecting on my experience, it’s clear that LIND’s Canvas is more than just an electric surfboard; it’s a testament to the harmonious blend of tradition and innovation. Whether you’re a seasoned surfer or a curious beginner, the Canvas offers an invitation to ride the future of waves—no ocean swell required.
