The Los Angeles Metro Expo line—the newly opened light rail that traverses between downtown and Culver City—celebrates the opening of its two last remaining stops June 20.All those who’ve sat in traffic on the I-10 freeway were excited to greet Phase 1 of Metro’s Expo Line, a newly opened $932 million, 8.6-mile light rail that traverses between downtown and Culver City. What, exactly, can you find on the line? At the downtown end, hit the 7th Street/Metro Center stop for a shopping spree in the Jewelry District, and take the next stop to Pico Station for sports, concerts and other entertainment at L.A. Live. Three stops west at the Expo Park/USC station are the University of Southern California campus and Exposition park, which hosts the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, four museums and the stately Exposition park rose garden. The La Cienega/Jefferson stop brings you—take a deep breath here—just steps from the See’s Candies factory! While the Culver City station, the final stop of the line deposits you within walking distance of the flourishing Culver City Arts District.
June 20, marks the completion of Phase 1 of the Expo line with the opening of the Farmdale and Culver City stations.
