Greg Gerovac has spent his whole life around beer. His grandfather worked for Pabst Brewing Co. in Milwaukee. Greg and his wife, Barbara, who grew up in Huntington Beach, learned to appreciate fresh local beer during seven years in Bavaria. They polished their own brewing skills in northern Virginia, then returned to Barbara’s native California, where they reopened the 140-year-old Anaheim Brewery, closed since Prohibition. The tasting room is housed in the 1920s Packard Building. Enjoy the well-hopped Anaheim 1888 or fuller-bodied Anaheim Red at a 30-foot bar from Anaheim’s demolished Covered Wagon saloon. 336 S. Anaheim Blvd., Anaheim, 714.780.1888. anaheimbrew.com
