Del Mar Races
Through Sept. 3. Head to the track for the final weekend of thoroughbred racing this summer. Festival of Sail
Aug. 29-Sept 1.
 The largest tall ship festival on the West Coast transforms the North Embarcadero into a nautical theme park. Set Sail on the bay or explore the ships while docked at the Maritime Museum. Hornblower Labor Day Cruises
Ongoing. Set Sail this Labor Day with a selection of cruises from Hornblower. Explore the waters of San Diego Bay aboard a large yacht as you sip cocktails at sunset on the Sights and Sips Sunset Cruise or take the Blue Whale Watching Adventure Cruise in search for local marine wildlife. Aug. 30. Dance the day away at a special Saturday session of Intervention at the Hard Rock Hotel’s fourth-floor pool as DJ Carnage spins top beats. Oceanside Pier Swim
Sept. 1. This annual event attracts athletes from all over the state and brings them to the lovely beaches of Oceanside. This year marks the 85th Anniversary of the one-mile swim that starts and ends on the shores surrounding Oceanside Pier. $35 per swimmer.
