EVENTS

 

Old Town Dia De Los Muertos
Nov. 1-3. This free event will include the traditional candlelight procession on November 2nd starting at 6 p.m, beginning at the entrance of the Old Town State Historic Park. The procession will travel down San Diego Avenue to El Campo Santo Cemetery led by Aztec Dancers and concluding with mariachis. Many restaurants, businesses, museums and shops will be creating over 50 traditional and contemporary Dia de los Muertos altars.  A public altar will be located in El Campo cemetery where visitors are encouraged to add their own mementos, photos and written tributes to loved ones. Yoga Mornings at The New Children’s Museum 
Nov. 2. Bring your mat and find your zen with a refreshing yoga class at the Museum! Classes take place the museum’s creative spaces to encourage positive mindfulness and well-being. Classes are friendly to all levels of difficulty and are taught by knowledgeable instructors from Corepower Yoga. Participants must be ages 18+. Tickets available online or at check-in. Paws on the Patio 
Nov. 2. Head to Sally’s Fish House & Bar for a spooktacular Paws on the Patio featuring Hyatt Hound’s 4th Birthday Paw-ty! Enjoy large waterfront patios with marina views, a fenced dog run, pet friendly photo booth, doggie caricatures, happy hour pricing and a K9 costume contest complete with prizes. Fresh Paint Gallery
Nov. 2. Fresh Paint Gallery in La Jolla will host a wine and cheese reception with live music from 6 to 8 p.m. this Saturday in celebration of its new exhibit, “Heaven and Earth,” a four-person show featuring all local talent: Patrick Brown, Ellen Dieter, Portia La Touche and Julia San Roman. Noche de Gala 
Nov. 2. Head to the iconic Hotel Del Coronado for an evening in support of the orphaned and abandoned children of Baja. Featuring a champagne reception, Mezcal and Baja wine tastings, a delicious dinner, DJ and dancing. Carlsbad Village Street Faire
Nov. 3. Halloween Party Cruise
Oct. 31. Aboard the William D. Evans sternwheeler guests can BOO-gie the night away with multiple levels of DJs, dance floors and drink specials, all while gliding through the sparkling waters of Mission Bay. Nov. 2. ALBACA is bringing the spirit of the season alive at the Coronado Island Marriott Resort & Spa with its culinary Day of the Dead celebration. Served on ALBACA’s beautiful poolside lawn with the San Diego Bay as the scenic backdrop, the menu will transport guests to the heart of Mexico. Chef Aaron Obregon’s dinner will feature regional specialties from Oaxaca, Mexico City, San Luis Potosi and Michoacan.
