Padres Baseball
June 6-9. The Washington Nationals are at Petco Park for a four-game series against the Pads with plenty of stadium celebrations. Saulte the first responders on Friday, and don’t miss the beach towel giveaway on Saturday. 100 Park Blvd., East Village.




Brews with Buckets
June 6. Snap a photo with San Diego’s own Instagram star Buckets the Frenchie and pick up a pint in support of It’s the Pits Rescue at this homegrown fundraiser. Mix, mingle, play Bingo and enter the raffle for a chance to win prizes from beloved San Diego hotspots like Better Buzz Coffee, Eppig Brewing and Volatire Beach House. 5-8 p.m. Free. San Diego International Boat Show
June 6-9. From entry-level family cruisers to luxury yachts to sailboats, more than 150 boats will be on display to browse, board and buy at this premier boat show. Attendees can also browse the on-land expo to view and test the latest marine accessories, services and electronics. Additional highlights include workshops and seminars, food trucks, a floating tiki bar, beer garden and live entertainment. First Friday Amplified Concert and Market
June 7. San Diego’s biggest monthly art walk gets amplified at this kick-off to summer. Activities include a free concert, craft beer garden, pop-up market and much more. Meet working artists, enjoy dance, theater and music performances, visit museums and galleries and explore the growing Arts District. Come for the art, but stay for country artist New Reveille’s headline set. 5-9 p.m. Free. Liberty Station North Promenade, 2848 Dewey Road, Point Loma, 619.756.7992.


Opens June 7. The interactive art show returns for a third year, with a new theme on empathy. Thirteen works include an immersive installation where visitors see themselves illustrated as constellations and a virtual reality experience in which participants can listen to stories, hopes, and secrets shared by previous participants as well as add their own. $15-$27. Avolution Fest
June 8. Celebrate all things avocado at this festival featuring live performances by St. Lucia, Lost Kings and Tim Legend; avocado-inspired art installations; an avocado-centric menu created by San Diego food trucks; and immersive art installations. $20-$25 GA; food and drink additional. Cakebread Cellars Wine Dinner
June 8. Discover the high-elevation, terroir-driven wines of Cakebread Cellars Vineyard during this four-course dinner from Avant Chef de Cuisine Chris Gentile. Menu highlights include kampachi with grapefruit, avocado, agave and sea bacon; American Wagyu with chef’s garden squash and huitlacoche; various decedent appetizers and more. 6 p.m. $125. Seasonal Frosé
Available June 8. Beat the heat and cheers to National Rosé Day on June 8 and throughout summer with The Spa at Rancho Bernardo Inn’s seasonal frosé. Brunch and the Big Screen
June 9. This new weekly brunch is a full Sunday activity complete with a buffet, bottomless beverages and movie tickets. The brunch buffet includes chef stations for customizable omelets and waffles; entrées such as eggs Benedict, French toast and roasted herb salmon; and a dessert station with peanut butter brownies, cheesecake bites and more. For an additional $20, imbibe at the build-your-own brunch cocktail bar with bottomless bloody marys and mimosas. Paws on the Patio
June 9. Bring your four-legged friends for a special dog-friendly happy hour at Sally’s Fish House & Bar in partnership with Rancho Coastal Humane Society. Enjoy half-off appetizers, $6 beers and $7 select wines and well cocktails, marina views and a fenced dog run for the guests of honor to play in. World Vespa Day
June 9. Grab your scooter and ride to Giardino to celebrate World Vespa Day with $5 bites such as housemade meatballs, arancini, eggplant rolls and bruschetta, and drinks starting at $3. North Park Breakfast Company
Now open. A sister restaurant to the popular Breakfast Republic, North Park Breakfast Company is now open in the heart of North Park. Offering the area’s only rooftop dining option,  expect a homey, coffeeshop-style atmosphere with an imaginative spin on both sweet and savory classics, and veggie-forward cocktails and juices such as the carrot cocktail infused with Aquavit, lemon, carrot juice and serrano bitters. Sunset Poolside Jazz
Starts June 6. Local jazz celebrity Gilbert Castellanos has gathered the best jazz musicians San Diego has to offer for this weekly jazz series on Thursday nights. Artists include Joshua White Trio, Dennis Gittens, Robert Dove Trio, Irving Flores, Curtis Taylor and more. 6:30-9:30 p.m. Free with $25 food and beverage minimum. Adult Recess
June 8. Unwind from a long week with an adult beverage and a night of science fun at the Fleet, specifically for grownups. Take over the Fleet’s newest exhibition, Pause|Play, and experience all of the adult-sized recess activities. Zip down a 31-foot-long slide that clocks your speed, dig into augmented-reality sandboxes and take a dip into the adult-sized ball pit. In between activities, head to the bar to get a drink and linger awhile to enjoy the music. Adult Recess open Saturday nights through August 31. 7 to 10 p.m. R.H.
